Paralegal Degrees Offer Great Opportunites

ITT Technical Institute in Bessemer said it will now offer an associate's degree in paralegal studies to meet the projected demand in the field.
The school said Bureau of Labor Statistics show employment of paralegals should grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2009 through 2016, said a news release.
ITT's paralegal studies program will offer coursework in ethics, legal research and writing, law office technology and specific areas of law, such as criminal, corporate and litigation.
Graduates will be able to seek careers in areas such as corporate paralegal and real estate paralegal work and as contract administrators and legal assistants, said the school.
There are many paralegal training programs available at business or vocational schools, community colleges, and universities. There are certificate or diploma programs which can be completed in as little as two years. Some schools even offer more specific programs designed for student who already hold their associates or bachelors degree.
