NLNAC Accredited Nursing Programs & Schools
The National League for Nursing is the non-profit organization recognized by the Department of Education as the authoritative accrediting body for nursing schools. The National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLCAC) is the organization that actually processes accreditation requests and acts on them.
The nursing programs at major medical centers, medical schools and universities have generally maintained accreditation for decades. Many of the accredited nursing programs are still at community colleges, since all that is required to qualify for the RN exam is an associate’s degree.
Today many nursing students opt for a BSN in nursing in order to qualify for management positions as their careers progress. In addition, the NLNAC has accredited a number of online schools for various nursing degrees. Below are some of the NLNAC accredited nursing schools that have developed quality online nursing degree programs as an outgrowth of their campus teaching.
