IBMC Honors Medical Billing and Coding Students For Passing CMBS Exam
The purpose of a medical billing degree, eventually, is to qualify for the Certified Medical Billing Specialist (CMBS) exam to become a professional in the field of medical billing and coding. This month, Colorado’s Institute of Business and Medical Careers is honoring six of its students who have completed their MB&C program and successfully sat for and passed the CMBS.
The IBMC Students who passed the CMBS May 22nd, 2009 Exam are:
Anne Johnson, Sarah Kenton, Tiffany Renaud, Patricia Rodrigurez, Martha Temple
and Dawn WebsterStudents, who have passed the exam are certified Medical Billing and Coding Specialists and are recognized as professionals in their field. The Exam consists of 100 in-depth questions in the following areas: Medical Office Insurance, Medical Terminology, ICD Coding, CPT Coding, Insurance Carriers, Proper Coding of Medicare Claims, Completing a HCFA-1500 and Claim Resolution.
The exam is administered by the Medical Association of Billers (MAB), and this particular exam was proctored by a successful medical biller and a previous graduate of IBMC’s medical billing program. MAB lauded the new graduates for their dedication to excellence in a field that is vitally important to the evolution of the medical community.
