Kaplan University Legal Degree
About Kaplan University Legal Degree Programs:
Kaplan University does not a law school within its online confines, but it provides a wide variety of choices for people who are interested in pursuing a paralegal career. Paralegals today are assuming increasingly important responsibilities in law offices, in part because they have developed the skills and in part because they do not cost a law firm as much as an attorney.
The Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies offers ten areas of specialization, any one of which can prepare you to take on critical roles in a law firm. Areas of concentration such as family law, employment law, personal injury and real estate will allow you to meet with clients, conduct an initial interview, and research the law on the case before passing it along to an attorney.
There are also paralegal degrees in office management and office technology, although it is often the legal secretary who is office manager that becomes a paralegal as a step up the career ladder. Kaplan has Associates' Degree programs in Paralegal Studies and in Legal Office Management, as well as a Certificate in the paralegal field.
