About Strayer University Computer Science Degree Programs:

Strayer offers computer science academic programs that result in Diplomas, Certificates, Associate's Degrees, Bachelor's Degrees and Master's Degrees. Technology is one of Strayer's three important academic divisions and in the field of Computer Science they excel in the academic options that they make available online.

Several of the academic offerings at the Diploma and Certificate level are identical. In order to enroll in either, a student must have a high school diploma. The difference is the in the intensity and time devoted to the academic program. Certificates require 27 credit hours of course work, while Diplomas will require 45 -54 hours of credit hours. In the computer science field, these degrees are both offered in Database Management, Homeland Security and Information Systems, Networking, Programming, Web Development and several other academic choices.

An Associate's Degree is offered in Information Systems. The Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems includes all of the options mentioned for Diplomas and Certificates, plus areas of concentration in Computer Security, Internetworking Technology, Software Engineering and Security Administration.

The Master's program in Information Systems provides the management training for many of the professional areas of focus explored in the lower degree programs. Areas of concentration for the Master's Degree include Decisions Support Systems Management, Enterprise Resource Management, Software Engineer Management and Systems Development Management.
