Strayer University MBA Degree

About Strayer University MBA Degree Programs:

Strayer's MBA program incorporates a little of the traditional and a little more of the MBA specializations that have become so important to businesses that find the traditional executive skill sets to lack several essential elements.

On the traditional side, Strayer offers the MBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management. The MBA in Finance and the basic MBA focusing on Management also fall into the more established courses of study.

Choices that reflect the more recent shifts in what skills are essential for business productivity are the MBA in Marketing, in Supply Chain Management and in Human Resource Management. All of these areas have been business functions for many years.

But supply chain management, for instance, became critical when companies like Dell proved that they could maintain a profit margin by virtue of structuring a business that required no inventory. Their offshore manufacturers fly product into the United States daily, for distribution to customers who have already purchased.

Marketing was at one time an obscure function that somehow supported advertising and sales. Now, the planning begins with a marketing strategy that includes analysis of product life cycles, capital cost projections and an analysis of cost-per-sale that includes the online marketplace. In HR, management efforts have become much more proactive in seeking methods to maximize employee performance through communication, training and constant feedback.

Strayer's MBA programs recognize the importance of both the old and the new, and provide the academics that leave career choices wide open.
