The Art Institutes Recording Arts
About The Art Institutes Recording Arts Programs:
At the Art Institutes there are three academic options available in the field of the recording arts. One choice is in Audio Production, focusing on audio for video productions, for broadcast environments and for live sound. Another option is Audio Design Technology, a more technically oriented field of study that develops expertise in the use of microphones, sound baffles and other tools used for the recording and mixing of audio tracks. The third choice is Audio and Media Technology, which includes the use of professional-class recording equipment for both audio and video production.
While these courses of study certainly overlap, each develops a certain area of expertise that will become more sharply defined once you're working in the industry. The options for degrees in recording arts are the Diploma, Certificate, Associate's and Bachelor's Degrees. There are also non-degree coursework options available for professionals seeking continuing education opportunities.
