About Walden University Teaching Degree Programs:
Walden University offers a Master's in Education degree, which is the basic education academic credential in most states. Aspiring teachers are expected to hold a master's degree from an accredited university such as Walden and in most states, commit a certain number of hours to student teaching as well as pass a licensure test. The Walden Master's in Education program is designed to prepare you for a teaching career or an administrative role in education by providing coursework in instruction design, the new technologies employed in teaching and the diverse issues that arise in primary and secondary classrooms.
Walden also has a carefully focused Teacher Preparation program that results in a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. It is certified by the State of Minnesota as meeting state teaching requirements there and is specifically designed to help students already holding a bachelor's degree to obtain the necessary teacher's training. Areas of concentration include Early Childhood Education K-3, Special Education for pupils with emotional and behavioral disorders K-12, and Special Education for learning disabilities K-12.
