Medaille College Announces Military Scholarship
Are you a United States military service member or veteran who is looking for a scholarship opportunity? Medaille College in Buffalo, New York announced that it is offering scholarships to service members.
The Veterans Education Tuition Scholarship will provide up to $10,000 to current and former members of the military interested in pursuing associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, college officials said Wednesday. The monies will be offered in addition to any veterans' benefits already being received by eligible military personnel.
Medaille College President Richard Jurasek, himself a military veteran, started thinking about putting together some sort of veteran scholarship soon after he arrived on campus in June, 2007. "I was acutely aware of the how important the GI Bill tuition support was in my career," Jurasek said. "I wanted to make my own story fit our ability as an independent institution to shape financial aid however we see fit."
Located in western New York, Medaille College is a small liberal arts, career oriented college that offers undergraduate and graduate programs at its campus. The college hopes that this scholarship will make the college more attractive to members of the military who want to earn their degree.
