Finance Degrees

Are you outgoing and good at working with people? Are you interested in helping those people make the best financial decisions possible? There are many facets to the world of business. but if you feel like you fit that description, a career in Finance may be the best fit for you.

A degree in Finance is a lot like a degree in Accounting in many respects -- both are known for their number crunching, requiring a thoughtful and logical mind possessed by extreme attention to detail. Finance accounting, however, deals specifically with a company's (or, for that matter, a single person's) money outside of the company itself, for example money handed to landlords, banks, utilities, and shareholders. As such, finance accountants must learn a whole separate world of topics in conjunction with the usual basic accounting courses -- topics like managerial finance, portfolio management, and investing all come together to best help you help others that share stake in your company feel at ease with financial investments.

What you can do with a Finance degree depends on how far you take it. A Bachelor degree is often the requirement for becoming a certified finance accountant. To move on into the private consulting sector of financial management and analysis, however, often requires an MBA. Where do you see yourself? The choice is yours. Either way, the future looks good.
