These fixes usually require onsite inspections. And because many technicians interact directly with clients, it is important that you master the necessary people skills required for this job. Many users are "emotionally unstable" by the time they connect with you. Diplomacy, tact, and understanding are incredibly useful in this line of work.

Career Outlook for Computer Repair

Job opportunities are expected to be favorable for computer repair technicians over the next 8-10 years. Current estimates place industry growth at 13%-18% from 2006 to 2016. This makes perfect sense when you understand how the industry works. When the economy is strong people buy more computers, which means more potential clients. When the economy is weak, people hold onto their computers longer, which means more potential clients. Armed with the appropriate skills and training, you can help satisfy this demand.
