The ultrasound technician is a key player on the healthcare team. Sonographers must also have good hand-eye coordination to be able to properly locate the intended area and capture the appropriate images.

Once you complete your education, you can expect to make an annual salary as a full-time sonographer that ranges between $54,000 and $76,000.  The salary you earn will be dependent on the area where you live and the employment setting, meaning those working in a major hospital in an urban area can expect to earn more than a sonographer at a private practice in a more rural area of Maryland.  Salaries are also dependent on the experience, education, and specialization of the sonographer.
