Indiana University Offers 20 Scholarships
Indiana State University has announced that it will be offering 5 more of its Presidents Scholarships than last year. Prospective scholarship candidates were given a campus tour, and then interviewed to be selected for the scholarships.
The number of prospective scholars invited to campus for interviews is approximately three times higher than in previous years, said John Beacon, vice president for enrollment management, marketing and communications.
"Because of the growing interest in Indiana State University by high achieving students, we have expanded the number of scholarship interview weekends to ensure the greatest opportunity for student participation. We have made these awards highly competitive in order to recognize the very best students," Beacon said.
The President's Scholarship is Indiana State's highest award, providing $15,000 per year, while the Networks Scholarship, for College of Business majors, covers in-state tuition and provides a $3,000 professional development account. The Rural Health Scholarship, for pre-medicine students, covers in-state tuition and the University Honors Scholarship provides $4,500 per year toward the cost of tuition. All of ISU's top scholarships also include a business-grade laptop computer.
Indiana University is not only attracting local students, many prospective students are from outside of Indiana as well. There are scholarship candidates are from Illinois, Michigan, Alabama, Missouri, Ohio, and West Virginia.
