South Carolina Broadcasters Association Scholarship
South Carolina students who are looking to pursue a career in broadcasting will have an opportunity to apply for a scholarship being offered by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.
South Carolina's television and radio journalists are celebrating a milestone they hope will help the state's broadcasting students.
The South Carolina Broadcasters Association said Tuesday it had reached its goal of securing $1 million for its Educational Foundation Fellows.
In 1982, the association established a foundation to provide grants, scholarships and endowments for colleges, technical schools and universities in the state that offer broadcast training.
The association says it reached the $1 million goal with a $120,000 contribution at the end of the last fiscal year.
Even when scholarships are being cut, and endowments are dwindling, there are many organizations in our country that are still able to raise enough money to meet their scholarship funding goals. By reaching their goal, the foundation can assure the support of the state's broadcast students.
