Washington Potato Foundation Announced Scholarships
Students in the Pacific Northwest potato growing regions are eligible for the Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship.�� This scholarship is being offered by the Washington State Potato Foundation, and is intended for students who wish to pursue a degree in agriculture.
Intended for current students as and incoming freshmen, the scholarship program annually awards $1,000 to $5,000 to up to 20 students pursuing careers in agriculture, according to a news release.
With total awards exceeding $25,000, applicants are evaluated on academic records,
extracurricular activities, personal application essays and reference letters. Winners are
selected by an independent committee administered by the foundation.
This year, up to two students who display exceptional leadership abilities will be selected for
Ag Excellence Leadership Program, a three-year $5,000-a-year scholarship, plus work
experience and career-enriching opportunities in the industry. This program is funded by an endowment by the Washington State Potato Commission.
This scholarship opportunity is one of many available to student pursuing a degree in agriculture.�� Opportunities like this aren't small potatoes.
