I read some of the statements about Everest College, and I question the negative comments about this school. I graduated from Everest College (formally the Bryman School: National Education Center in June 1990). Three months later, I was hired as a medical assistant. I had a wonderful career ever since then. That school taught me everything I needed to know how to succeed in the health care field. I worked in a private and a public health clinic for 18 years. I went back to school, received my bachelor degree in my 10th year as a medical assistant and was promoted. The main reason I was promoted was because I had experience working as a medical assistant peforming front office duties. Currently, I am trying to obtain employment as a teacher at Everest to teach the students everything they need to know on how to become professional medical administrative assistants like Everest taught me. I am proud of the school I attended. I am not ashamed to put an Everest graduate on my Resume. Basically, it is not the school that fails your achievements, it is the individual who complains and do not put effort in achieving his or her goals. Again, thanks Everest for an excellent education and a wonderful career.

I am a Student Ambassador at the Norcross, GA campus and let me just say that this school needs HELP! Maybe it's just the campus because I have read some good things about other campuses. Today it was RAINING IN the school. I litterally mean that. At the Norcross campus they have replaced the ceiling tiles I don't know how many times since I first started here. Today is my last day and yet again, for maybe the 6th time, it rains inside. The student lounge was flooding and the labs were ALL leaking. The point I'm trying to get at is that if you expect us to learn here, maybe you should replace things so that we can learn safely and without having to hear that our EKG machines don't work properly because they got rained on. On another note, I am a weekend student and they have been promising a full weekend staff for us since day one. As with everything else I have brought to their attention, nothing seems to have been done about it. The extern coordinator for my program (MA) has done nothing to help me and a few other students I know find externships. Do not promise me that you will help me after you sucker me in to paying $15000 and then just flake out on me. If you want my opinion, this schoool really is out for money. While my instructor has been a good one and I have learned a lot, I had to teach myself MEDISOFT.
Let me also say, and Im just going on and on, but I do have a personal experience with someone not hiring because the name EVEREST was on my resume'. I went to an interview for my externship and she was about to hire me and when she spoke to her business mgr., he said they no longer take students from here. When I asked why I was told that several students have stod around and done nothing as if they were never taught what to do in the first place. I have a 95 average and was willing to fight to prove myself but he said taht they simply could not do it because I came from Everest.Long story short, while I have learned some of what I need to succeed as an MA, I have had to fight to get there and now I can't even get an externship like they promised or a job. Do not waist your time and/or money coming here. My advice to you would be to go elsewhere for the sake of your career.
TRY BROWN MACKIE, MAYBE EVEN GO TO NURSING SCHOOL, BUT DONT COME TO EVEREST GUYS PLEASE!

I recently enrolled in Everest University Online and the tuition is fair with the help of financial aid. So far, in the last two semesters I have received all my books on time for class. In regards to my professors they have been encouraging and helpful each step of the way. As a result I have been doing well and am getting the education I was looking for. On the other hand, I am concerned about the accreditation debate controversy. Everest University is accredited however; the school holds a national accreditation. This sounds promising but in reality the accreditation that holds a higher quality is the regional accreditation. Some of the leading public and traditional universities do not accept transfer of credits from Everest University Online. In addition, I would like to say thank you Christen J. as I am currently obtaining my AA in criminal justice with Everest University Online out of Brandon, Florida. I was thrilled to hear a positive story come from someone in the same field that I am currently studding in. I have been wiry that I may be wasting my time and effort with a school that is not worth it. My experience has been great so far, I cannot think of complaint. My only concern was how this school is viewed by employers and how the outcome would benefit me in the end after all this hard work.

I am a current student at Everest College, and i first want to say sorry for the bad experiences you all had to face. Fortunatley I dont have the same problems you do, i attend Everst in dallas tx. Yes there is are alot of people there that are ghetto and pwt but im there for a reason i dont care what their issues are i am there to learn and thats all ive been doing from day one. Im in my second month now and yes i have a different instructor, but me and my first instructor still talk and she still helps me even though i am no longer in her class. So far i am maintaining a 98% average, ive recieve 7 recomendation for the ambassadors program and i am about 4 months ahead on my computer lab work. I say all this to say it is what you put into it if you sit back and expect someone to spoon feed you then you are going to complain. I dropped out of school 6 weeks before graduation because my mom got really ill and i had to work and pay bills for my family. Everest paid for my Ged. They are going to provide me with the additional certification classes for free, all because i ask. So i dont agree fully on the statements being shown here because everest can be a life changing experience for someone and reading this page could change their minds completly.I dont think thats fair because some of you arent self motivated.

Well I reside in georgia and work at Philips Arena, where most of the students go to Atlanta Metro or Brown Mackie. One of my Co-workers went to Everest and completed it... Unfortunately, she could not find a job and a manaager at one of the places in which she applied, advised her to take Everest off her resume'. He stated it looks bad... To make a long story short she now attends Brown Mackie for the same exact thing she completed at Everest.

IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE LOCATION. I'M HAVING A WODERFUL EXPERIENCE, MY PARALEGAL INSTRUCTORS KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING AND I AM LEARNING SO MUCH THAT I'M VERY EXCITED ABOUT MY CAREER. EVEREST COLLEGE ONTARIO METRO AREA IN CALIFORNIA IS WORKING GREAT FOR ME. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL. STAFF ARE INCREDIBLY NICE AND EVEN THOUGH I'VE HEARD A LOT OF NEGATIVE COMMENTS, IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING EVEREST IN ONTARIO METRO, YOU WONT REGRET IT.

Not what I agreed to pay 15,000 for, there is only maybe 50 minutes a day spent in lab. My instructor seems to know alot but we don't, the majority of the day is gossip! I have only a couple of days until I graduate on the PRESIDENTS LIST + PERFECT ATTENDANCE. Still, there is no extern NO ONE WANTS A EVEREST STUDENT in there practice at all. This school is a very bad choice to make, you have better odds playing the lottery.

I am attending Everest College right now, I'm on my six month, and I agree with you all. This College is just after getting people's money, they don't care about the students needs. I feel like I'm learning on my own, and I agree with the guy that wrote about the teachers giving us the answers for the test, how are we going to learn that way?. It feels like we are just memorizing stuff with out knowing the real meaning. I really want to know what should I do to not pay my 13,000 loan. I am not getting the education I'm paying for. College like this should not exist.I think we all should file a complaint report with the state, that way hopefully we don't have to pay for our loans and they'll refund the money to former students that already paid for their diploma.

I am currently a student a Everest in Chelsea MA, I habe to say that overall my experience here was not the best. At the beggining I had a very good instructor that really cared to teach but then suddenly they switched her for a instructor that does not care at all. I WOULD'T RECOMENR ANYONE HERE!! Is a waste of time and money. Before u even think of coming to this school check community colleges that cost less and u can get more....

I am about to graduate from everest college with my B.S. in criminal justice. It's a great school! My boss actually came to my school looking to hire students here. He hired me a year ago as a private investigator. I am still working in the field and will soon be licensed as an investigator. Everest is not for everyone, but it's great for people who have a different type of learning style. I CAN NOT learn in big classroom settings. I can't retain the information in that type of environment. Everest gives one-on-one attention some people need. Plus, not everyone has the opportunity to go to a state university, live in the dorms, not work for four years and have mommy and daddy send them money every few weeks. I have heard a lot of bad stories about Everest, luckily I have obtained a great job in law enforcement and it is all thanks to everest. Reserach schools before you make judgments.

That sucks for you. I am at Everest institute in Jonesboro,Ga. My teacher is excellent! She lectures us and pushes to do more than what we are learning there. She lets us use Everest instead of the other way. She also is preparing us for the state exam. She gives us practice tests etc. She also teaches the way the state does it, and what to expect in the real world. Maybe I am one of the few, but my experiance has been wonderful. And I graduated high school and 85 and finally went to school! I have no complaints!!! Good luck to you who do. And between grants and Sallie Mae, I will end up paying back about $5000! Money well spent!!! When I graduate, I will further my education, and at least be working in my field. I love being a PCT...

I went to Everest back in 2005 when it was still called Bryman. And know my experience with them was not great. But I would like to believe that that is because the school was brand new to Missouri had a lack of staff and no direction at all. I am currently planning on going back to take a different course at Everest. I know some people are wondering why, if you've already had a bad experience. And my answer to that is simply because a bad experience is only as bad as you allow it to be. It is up to each individual to get the best out of everything laid before you and if Everest was bad to you it's not because they failed as an institute it's because you failed as an individual to get all you can while you were there and making that best out of that.. It's your money that you're spending so make sure you get your money's worth by being a bug in someone's ear until you begin to see the results that you want. Don't be afraid to ever ask questions and Demand results from anyone or anything. I graduated in St. Louis, MO first Gradauating Class and although my sucess after graduation wasn't all that great I have plenty of peers who are doing excellant one being my own sister. So I say it's not Everest that is bad it's the students that want everything handed to them on a platter. This is college you have to work as hard as you want them to..

I am currently a student at Everest in the MIBC program in Oregon, and I must say there are some problems but none compared to what's been said on here.
Yes, there are some students that get on my nerves. But, there will always be people that get on your nerves wherever you go. Right?
And yes, some teachers are more into teaching than others. This is a "college" level school. It's not high school. They expect you to do your work and take some responsibility. They are not babysitters.I am only in my second month. My teacher for this month is different than the teacher I had last month. These two teachers are so different in their styles but that's ok. One is more relaxed than the other, but they still care about whether you do well or not. The one that's more relaxed doesn't harp on you about your homework and gives a lot of time in class to work on your homework and study for tests. She is more into you doing the work for you, not standing in front of the class lecturing all day.
The last teacher I had was the opposite. Most of the class was lecture and we had about a half hour to work on homework and study. It really depends on where you go to school and who your teacher is. There are some things you will like and some things you won't. It's like that with ANY school. Not just Everest. And just cause you have a bad experience doesn't mean ALL Everest Institutes are like that. So far I am liking the program and don't feel it's a waste of money. I don't think every Everest is going to have a teacher that talks about smoking pot all day. True, she shouldn't be a teacher, but instead of complaining about it on here, go to the board and take care of it there. Keep going up until that teacher loses her job. We can't help you here.
I just feel that unless you have gone to 100 Everest Institutes you can't say they are all bad. Cause they aren't. You are going to come across teachers you don't like in Universities and Community Colleges as well. It's just a fact of life, so deal with it and stop complaining. Do your work, take your tests, ignore the people who drag you down and just get it done.

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE I GRADUATED ON PRESIDENTS LIST JUST BECAUSE I SHOWED UP HALF THE TIME WE NEVER HAD A TEACHER AND WHEN WE FINALLY GOT ONE SHE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT MASSAGE THERAPHY AT ALL. MY WHOLE CLASS GOT STUCK AND SCREWED AND NOBODY CAN PASS THE CERTIFIED EXAM THAT THE STATE REQUIRES YOU TO TAKE. PLEASE PLEAS PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY I AM STUCK WITH FIFTEEN GRAND WITH SALLIE MAE AND NO MASSAGE JOB IN MY FUTURE TO HELP ME PAY IT OFF. DO NOT GO TO THIS COLLEGE YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF BUYING BOOKS AND TEACHING YOURSELF. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT HOW HORRIBLE THIS SCHOOL IS. ALL THE BEST TO EVERYONE TONI

I am a current student with Everest in Eagan, MN and all I have to say about the negatives with this school is that it depends on your instructor and your location. My instructor is just that, an instructor, she has 10+ years worth of experience in the field that she is teaching, and the same goes for our lead instructor. They educate us exactly on what we need to know and learn, we practice the work we will be doing in the work feild in our class room. Every person on the staff does what they can to help and assist struggling students, I am doing great and am picking it all up fast.
I have tried the community college route and it wasn't for me, I also looked in to ComputerTraining.com, and if you want bad reviews search them up in google.
Everest is right for a lot of people and not right for some. If you are hands on and know a little about what you are interested in then go for it. The job placement rate is fantastic and I am looking forward to becoming a Pharmacy Tech and graduating with my head held high at graduation. -

I am a wannabe MA student. I have done accounting for 12 years and I am looking to make a career change. I visited the campus, did the tour and chatted with some of the staff. They made me feel really welcome and all were very pleasant to talk to. I left excited and gunhoe about proceeding with my career change at Everest.
A girl friend of mine suggested that I do some research before I made my actual decsion. Well, I did and the reviews are terrible. I am not comfortable spending $15,000.00, taking a $10.00 an hour paycut to find out that these reviews are acurate and true.
I thought to myself that maybe the people who are writing the terrible reviews are terrible students but there are so many terrible reviews all similar in a way that I find that hard to believe also. I am truley crushed that what I thought was going to be so great doesn't seem to be.
I am asking That if you have good reviews for this school and positive experiences and final outcomes to please post POSITEVE FEEDBACK!
Thank you for taking the time to read:-)

i agree with jill. i also attend everest and this school is a joke!they do not get you prepared for the state exam and my teacher has told us that. you have to go out and buy a prep book fir 70 plus and learn on your own. these teachers do not care about teaching us, they just make us pass their tests by giving us exactly what will be on the test. they just want to get paid. this is not a school it is a business. i hope no one decides to go to everest. go to your local community col. they offer programs and are much cheaper, but take a little longer. DO NOT GO TO EVEREST!!!! biggest waste of money i have ever spent. =(

Everest Institute is the worst school out there and I hope you all do your research before dropping 15 grand on this bull crap so called school. I currently attend everest and i am in my 5th month. I am on the presidents list and i do very well learning ON MY OWN! The teachers do not care about you or your success. we basically sit around ALL DAY while most of the class is talking, sleeping or arguing with eachother. The teacher does not punish anyone for their behavior and my teacher talkis crap about other students all day when they are not around. My teacher graduated from everest in 2006 and has never has a medical assisting job and is very open about that. She tells us on a daily basis that she wants to quit. she spends her day talking about smoking pot and saying that she wished she had a blunt. this school is the biggest mistake of my like and im paying 15 grand for it. so do your research before you decide to go to everest. WORST SCHOOL EVER!!!!!
