It's so surprising to me how people complain about a school THEY choose. No one makes anyone attend college, it's a freedom we have and a choice we make. If we don't like where we're at ... we can leave. Why does someone stay if they don't think it's worth it. If you don't like the teachers, the campus, the education ... go elsewhere. No one is making you stay.
For me, the teachers are awesome. The staff works really hard and is is very supportive of the students. They care about our success. Could it be better? Sure. And they are trying. I know their Career Services person has worked really hard and changes have been fast and positive. The Dean is amazing and I can't think of another school which has such access to its staff.
It's not for everyone, but it's right for many.

For those of you bashing this school - do your research first. There is nothing worse than an uninformed idiot ranting about stuff they know nothing about. 1. 30,000 is cheap for an AS degree - check out the other school - ITT over 40K, IADT over 40k - STC is one of the most reasonable. 2. FA is a dream at STC compared to state schools - i've been ther e- and you really are just a number - try going to them to help you fill out your FAFSA - wont happen - but it does at STC 3. Lies? Really? I read everything I signed - did you? Obviously not. If you didn't then you cant complain. 4. They don't care?! Right. Tell you what - try going to SCC - or any other community college - and ask to speak with the Dean - twice a day, every day, for a week. You'll never even get to know his name or where his office is. I did it at STC - and the Dean talked to me every tiime. I challenge you to try THAT at any State school. In short - if you don't know what you are talking about, then shut up. STC is a great school.

I am attending this school and they are great. They have walked me through everything and the teachers are the best I have ever had.
I highly recommend this school.

I would not enroll in this scholar-ship business. They are not accredited by the state just some backdoor business like themselves called ICICS. $36,000 for a lacking education is not right. The dean is a salesman and does not care about you. Look at your surroundings. Can you say ghetto? They just want money from Direct Loans who has lost there minds to even give them loans. You also sign all your rights over. It is like North Korea enrolling here. What a waste of money and loss of respect for our education system.

This school is not a good choice at all. It targets low income people and try to sell them a dream they cannot deliver. The are not accredited by the state. No scholarships or grants(except pell grants) can be received for attending this school. They look for loan money from a MPN to be signed. $33,000+ for a $1000 education? There is no help once you sign your name away for the loan company will say the school has all the authority on money you must repay. Fafsa shows them with a 2% graduation rate. This is your basic loan sucking scholarship mill.

This school was better than I thought it would be. Everybody was really friendly and helped me get a starting fortify on my career. I have taken over two regions since I graduated and I am getting a 2 person bonus now that I have my degree. My career is starting here in North America but I have been researching moving to Europe, SE Asia, and even the Arctic to continue my career.
I would recommend this school. I was going nowhere when I started and now, with my new bunkers, I am ready to take on the world!!!!!
Do yourself a favor and get to school!!!

Never enroll in this school. I have been to both the Orlando and Sanford campus and let me tell you this private-for-profit only is horrible. They are not accredited by any means. They even lost their sponsorship from Workforce for the scholarships and they even said it was a bad school. The so called professors just have a basic college education themselves. Look in Careerbuilder online and they are looking for sales people for hire. The HVAC licenses mean nothing, there at real companies and be done for less than $32,000. When I went through this same education when I was 12 if that. The deans are salesman that will say anything for your tuition money and the admissions work to meet quota's for bonuses and will also mislead you so much you will think you are going to a Hardvard and end up in a ghetto. You can never transfer your credits here to a real school because they are bogus(universal) and not state credits. The school should be illegal and shut down by the Government Accountability Office like so many other scholar-ship mills. There graduation is at 2% which can be checked on FAFSA. The president should be put into a prison and his henchmen. Of course look at the demeanor of the students there they also complain but are trapped in loans. STAY AWAY FROM SOUTHERN TECHNICAL COLLEGE!

When first attending, I already had an AA from a SACS accredited school. I was told that my credits would transfer over and was looking at a short amount of time in school for an Associate of Science in a specific field. I was told that the school was very expensive. I can not afford only student loans and would need scholarships- I have a high GPA. My husband is a Vet with 20+ years military and displaced KSC. I informed admittance of all of this and was told financial aid could help and would look into scholarships, etc. I gave Financial Aid all the same info. They had me sign for student loans but said it was temporary and they would find scholarships. After several months I realized this was not happening. When trying to research scholarships through Fastweb.com, I couldn't even find the school in the drop down menu. Why? Because STC lost its accreditation and legitimate institutions don't hand out scholarship money to schools with no accreditation!. STC never told students it had lost accreditation. The school then had to satisfy new requirements and changed everyone's courses. My credits no longer transfered, adding to my agreed upon course load. No answers. STC will also make certain one is so far in debt with grants, loans, etc. that a student has no choice but to stay and finish or pay back the $30,000. Most of the teachers do care, but do you want someone to hold your hand or do you want an honest education? Only go if you can get a 100% free ride.

Let me start by saying, DON'T DO IT ! The finacial aid is a big joke, they take anyone that qualifies for goverment loans, and lie about what it will actually cost you. I have never seen a more racist school. Made it very uncomfortable to be in that environment..credits are worthless do not transfer.. I only lasted one class there.. Too much stupidity for me !!Go to SSC unless you like the above.. I believe they have lost their accredidation and I hope they did.
