Real Estate Degrees

Your online resource for Real Estate Degrees and Career Information. Real estate agents haven't had much success in recent years, but there is always going to be a need for these professionals. Projected growth is slightly above the national average at 14%, which is due in part to a growing population as well as the number of professionals that will be approaching retirement age in the next decade. There were over 500,000 real estate jobs in 2008 and more than 76% of those were real estate sales agents. In the future, these professionals will see more growth than real estate brokers. Education involved in real estate degrees includes certificate programs, associate and bachelor's degree programs, and other business courses and degrees that can assist a real estate career. There is a license requirement for real estate agents and brokers that requires 30-90 hours of classroom instruction depending on the state, as well as 1-3 years of experience in selling real estate. For those who seek a higher degree, the actual experience can often be waived. Licenses are renewed every 1-2 years depending on the state of residence, and continuing education is generally required for renewal.
